View Full Version : chaos theory review
overall this was a dope party :D . the sound in the main room sucked, feelgoods set wasnt as good as ive seen before, which sucked. john kellys tracks were dope, but his mixing wasnt that great. babyannes boobs did most of the work for her. but the saving grace, dara's set was off the hook. us house heads should watch out, those jungle kids are getting roudy. it was cool to see faces that i havent seen in almost 3 years. it was a kc party. i just wish that the balcony had been open, it would of helped with people not forming puddles in the hallway. (who's ever hand i stepped on, im sorry, but let that be a lesson, dont sit in the walk way.)
bluh, im going back to bed.

The party was completely out of sight...
With the exception of the sound...
This guy needs to get new equipment and learn how to use it properly...
Please let someone in phukbed know to please try to find someone else... (of course, I will hear back that I need to help them find someone else, so I will do my part. I will start looking around for a better sound guy.)

I\'d have to agree with everything you said. I really liked the venue definitely a whole lot less raver slime on me after I left (presumably due to the high ceiling which allowed for less concentration of smoke). Sound was less than perfect. Too bad it had to end so early (oh well at least the \"fuzz\" allows them to happen at all).
Great party! Thanks to everybody who allowed it happen.

I remember getting my first dancing cramp during John Kelley\'s set and I knew I was in for it! I danced pretty damn hard that night. I may have looked stupid half the time bc some of it just made me want to jump up and down it was so bad ass! I agree with Brent though, I have seen a better set from Feelgood in past events, but his set was still bad ass. We were dancing in front on the speakers on the right side. Everyone was definately out that night. All-in-all this has been one of the better parties I have been to in a long time!

Absolutly one of THE BEST parties in the area lately... Keep in mind that \'in the area\' is anywhere within 4 hours of Omaha, NE for me. :P
Dara B:L:E:W S:H:I:T U:P! Yes, Baby Anne\'s skimpy shirt did her work for her. Sound... Yes, it wasn\'t great. Seemed the closer you got, the better it sounded. Even then, though... It was NOT great.
And Plaza Hotel... A big FUK YOU. We didn\'t have any problems and were one of the groups that actually DIDN\'T get kicked out. For all you who did... We raided on the continental breakfast and drank them outta O.J.
Anyway, +1 for Phuk Bed
I heard about that stuff that went down at the plaza hotel... WHAT HAPPENED? I heard some shady cop stuff was goin\' on and that people were getting kicked out for making little noises. Was the noise from the partykids bad? Or were the kops just looking to kick the partykids around? I\'m confused. I wish I coulda been there.

Chaos Theory was absolutely bitchin. That was one of the better shows I\'ve seen in KC in some time. Baby Anne was badass. What really got my attention though was the travesty at the Plaza Hotel. I\'d also love to hear if those thrown out were really doing anything wrong. If not, so much for those who said the police were willing to peacefully coexist.

you know, honestly, aside from dara, the locals really blew shit up in the small room...jiminy kickit? where\'s he from again? that kid was damn decent...great name too? sound was terrible, but there\'s only so much you can do about that once it\'s all set up and ready to go....overall? i had a goddamnbiggityblast. goodtimes....and i know you don\'t want to hear it guys, but PBOKC!!!!!

This was one of the best times I\'ve had in KC recently......even if I lost Laura\'s weiner...lol. The vibe was awesome, and so were the sets. Keep bringing more jungle to KC!!

I loved the circuit board in front of the dj booth!
Ya, the sound was kind of a blur.. But thats a BIG venue, and I\'d imagine it\'s tough to get accurate sound in there. I dug John Kelly as usual, Dara was on point and Scenerio sealed the deal for him, Feelgood showed us what years of practicing the delay button can do, and Baby Anne, well, whatever. In the smokey room, I DUG Sketch and CQuence, Kickit was good, as was Pdub.. Good to see everyone out from back in the day, too.

Well, cops were there already as soon as the party was over and done. They were chillin in the lobby eating OUR :o continental breakfast (bet you can guess!). I know some kids tried to get, like, 20 people into a room. The limit was 4 (2 for each bed). It\'s kind of like you can only have 2 people living in a 1 bed room apartment. Codes and sh*t. And there WERE some loud groups we could hear. Basically, people were cramming people into rooms and the hotel wasn\'t about to condone an after party... You know.
I think they were scared. You know, us ravers are so mean and unpredictable...

Well peeps should know better than doing that shit at the Plaza hotels.... should have gotten rooms in westport, like the embassy! they are used to that kind a stuff! I know we have thrown some loud parties there! :P

Well the only reason any got a room at THAT hotel was because RJBASS posted that shit and got a good deal. The rooms that I were in that got kicked out where not loud at all. They just made us leave. I did end up staying in the room that i paid for, luckily we were on a floor by ourselves. I do know of one room, two ppl were in and they still made them leave. I know ACLU and many lawyers have already been called. It was just complete bullshit!! We knew there was gonna be trouble when we got there, before the party was over and the cops said, \"if we hear one peep you guys aint leavin till sunday?\" What kind of bullshit is that?
About the party-
I had a great time but I wish I could have danced on the inclined floor that was covered with spilled drinks but I could barely walk without almost falling down. The sound was aweful! Especially when you sat down, the echos literally made me feel ill. The music was great! Dara is freakin evil, feelgood was great minus the cheese, baby anne, i really licked but my friends swear she was fakin it! John Kelley seemed to play the same beat the entire time, that got a bit old. Stan Doublin....st. louis represent! I think there were more st. louis kids there than at a normal st. louis party! I would def go to another party in KC but not at that venue.

the party was an absolute success.. i got there at 11 and i saw a big line waiting for tickets i was like dam n it, i\'m already late.. luckily i ordered mine online so i didn\'t have to wait. I went in, bought a red bull and headed straight to room 2 where i stayed all night.. Sydeburnz, Jiminy Kickit, Zak C, & Paul Wicked put on a great show, i was really impressed.. sydeburnz played an excellent set, great hard sounds, it was awesome.. the next sets were house music: the robbie rivera - sex track was wicked.. also, david guetta - love don\'t let me go, that track made my night ! what remix was played if anybody knows.. Jiminy Kickit was the best dj to watch spin, he\'s hillarious.. a while after, Zak C (i think) laid down some latin house, amazing tunes.. n.b: if anybody can give me a playlist for the 11:00 pm to 2:00 am set i would be grateful.
i only spent 5 min in the main room because the music wasn\'t my style at the beginning (breakbeat), the music in room 2 was much better and so i didn\'t feel the need to move to room 1. the light and the lazer show (in room 1) were pretty neat i thought.
considering that was my first rave in america, i felt a bit too old for the crowd. i mean i\'m only 22 but there was lot of kids (high-school, teen agers) which i\'m not used to. i had no idea it was all ages, i figured it\'d be 18 and older. also, 90% of the people were not dancing.. i was dancing for 4 hours straight, i mean that\'s why you go to a rave/club to dance, right? that\'s what i also been told when paul oakenfold was at the uptown last year, that half of the crowd were just standing there.. weird !
anyhoo, for the people who didn\'t make it, they missed out on a good friday night. it was worth every penny although i wish next events would be cheaper. the event was too short, 2:45 am is nothing, usually parties start at 2 am, but what can you do.. i was asking around for the after-party to find out that they couldn\'t find a venue and it was canceled. bummer !
looking forward to the next party, and thanks for the good beats.
cheers, clubber

chaos theory happened to be my first party ever :D
and i must say, what a good choice of parties to make my first.
dara kicked my ass, it was incredible. and good thing, too...i drove 4 hours from st louis to get there. :)
and the lighting...wow...didnt you all think it was decent? youve mentioned the sound quite a bit but not the lights. i was impressed.
had a phatty-bo-batty time. hope you all did too :)

The party rocked! The music was great and the sound was good enough for me, Im not too picky. If I can hear it then I am fine. I danced so hard I am still sore! John Kelley was okay, Dara threw down better than I have seen in the past. I have to admit I have seen Feelgood better but he still rocked and Baby Anne took the cake! The locals and regionals threw down as well. Jiminy Kickit rocks. My only complaint was the upper balcony not being open because I love to chilll up there and cool down.

no joke, I like it when it is open as well... that way when my tired ass wants to chill and watch the dj, I can. I see why they have it blocked off but still.. UGH!

OK so we have finally recovered from Chaos and St. Patty\'s day...all I have to say is wow! We would like to thank everyone who came out to support and party with us, we truely were glad to see so many come out and represent in KC!!
My apologies go out to all that had to deal with the police at the hotel. There was no way that RJ or I could see that coming. But we live and learn. They could do nothing to shut the party down, so they looked for other ways to **** with us, and we gave them a huge frikkin target when we posted the hotel rooms online. *Hindsite is 20/20* RJ was merely trying to help everyone out, and was a good idea but I dont think the cops thought so.
We had a blast Friday and we hope you did too. Rest assured that we will be working out the problems that occured at this event, to make the next one bigger and better. The scene is struggling to get back on its feet and it was obvious from Friday nite that we dont plan on letting it go anywhere. Hopefully we see you guys come out for the next one, coming real soon!
now i just wanna see a deepconnections/phukbed/spirit/podkc event this summer, if all those crews could work together kc would be back on the map once again....

i traveled with 2 carloads from lincoln and i was soo surprised to be dancin around and meet others from the lincoln scene! i thought the party really kicked off the start of hopefuly a bunch of kik ass events this spring/summer? if the energy of the upcoming events are like they were at chaos i think there is major hope for some kik ass shows, but phuk (eh) that i already belive the scene is here!
i thought dara rocked the house, my fav from the main room by far. i couldnt really get into the house grooves of feelgood and baby anne didnt save it much i thought, but hey i never stoped dancin a single dj! the first djs i walked into (ehh blurry memory ;) ) made me kinda mingle a bit but i thought the whole party rocked hardcore. cant wait till donald glaude ! :0

Overall, I think that arty kicked-@ss!! Probably the best I\'ve seen at the uptown theatre thus far!! Dara smoked up the dance floor!! Hes a Dj i\'ve wanted to see for along time and never would of thought it would be in Kc!! I didnt see much else of the main room, but the smoke room was the best, the djs really tore it up. And how the hell did I get soo drunk off $4 beer?! And everyone else too... A lot of peeps I know were just tanked...hint...hint... Cheers to Phuk-Bed!!!! Whooo hooo!!!! Oh and Kourtness, Bobbi probably just doesnt remember enough to fill much of anything in!!!!
