GRrrreat show last night. Have to say that Dave Aude was a bit of a letdown...but I don\'t think it was his fault. It was a house-head orgy last night! Wonderful!

DUDE, RJ, where is the love for syde-sho?
:casstet:
I hurt.... in places I didn\'t know could hurt... good time.
Oh and Dave Aude rocked my socks. I was extremely drunk a that point but I know I loved it. I can\'t really recall why I loved it... but I did. And RJ, that bartender is the shiz-natty.

Aude was kickin\' some great chunes last night. One of the best crowd vibes I\'ve ever seen at XO. Hopefully he\'ll come back soon.
And the afterhours get together was a blast. Gotta love the pissed-off Hugh Hefner landlord! Oh well, guess I couldn\'t blame him.

I want to see Dave Aude but I cant stand to be around clubbers for more than about 5 minutes before I start wanting to beat them senseless. Sorry I just have a problem with fake ass people like them.
That\'s a pretty broad statement

I have had experiences in the past at XO and other places that typical \"clubbers\" party and had bad experiences and typically dont get along with those type of people. Anyone who judges people on how much money they make or who has the biggest fake tits or who has the shiniest shirt are no one I want to be around.
I have to agree. Won\'t it be nice when all the party kids turn 21 and take over the club scene? I can\'t wait for that day.
Randy J.
04-28-2003, 06:20 PM
OMG that would be wonderful. I think we are too kind and nice for clubbers. They would not like us taking over there \"whos better than who enviroment\" judgemental bastards! I cant even describe how much I despise clubbers.
Kourtney

i always figured that some clubbers were just ravers of age.
From your comments I am starting to think that when people tell me I\'m a clubber I should take offense and smack the $hit out of them?!?!
Randy J.
04-28-2003, 08:55 PM
Hell no the way I see it clubbers and ravers are complete opposites. Ravers are normally respectful cool people who arent judgemental and want to have a good time no matter what. Ravers dont care about money or dressing in the bullshit clubware. Ravers are there for the music and dancing not to get piss ass drunk and talk shit.
Clubbers arent like that. Clubbers are arrogant assholes who judge everyone and think they are hot shit because they are riding around in a limo that mommy and daddy paid for! Clubbers are steriod pumping, fake ass, bitches that need to realize they arent better than everyone else but just because they act like they have money.
Clubbers are the worst kind of partier. I dont even want to be around clubbers. Thewy just arent cool people. You cant just walk up to a clubber and start a conversation with them without them looking at you like you are nothing. A raver you can talk to anytime no matter if you konw them or not.
Once again I cant even describe to you how much despise clubbers.

^^ Funny your so quick 2 judge clubbers! Still it\'s a fair overall judgement. I think of clubbers as people who go out looking for ass and have 2 where their best clothes. They come 2 drink and meet the opposite sex and dance 2 top 40 remixes. Sometimes I even wonder if they care what music is playing as long as some ass is on the dance floor 2 grind on.
Well shoot... I go to drink and dance to top 40 remixes. And I wear my best clothes! So I can meet the opposite sex! I am going to clubber hell.

KOurtney your funny ! !! !
And my final word to this is.... I am a \"Party Kid\"... NOT a RAVEr, NOT a CLUBBER! I drink have a good time and don\'t really pay that much attention to the people around me. THey don\'t bother me and I won\'t bother them.
So people don\'t stress, everyone has to do there own thing. Cuz if they didn\'t this world would be absolutely boring! :P
Randy J.
04-29-2003, 04:37 PM
That is what I would call myself as well is a party kid. But the way I see it I am not judging clubbers because that is a complete and accurate description of every clubber I have ever met!

I know what you\'re saying about clubbers. I\'d call my wife and I \"clubbers\" if I truly felt that fit our description, regardless of what you think. I\'ve seen those dweebs in the club all the time, and usually refer them as \"ginos\", but that\'s just my own slang. But I\'ve never owned a shiny shirt in my life, never spiked my hair once, and never went out looking for a piece of ass (already got one). I go out with my friends to have a good time, regardless of where it takes us. I\'ve been going to XO for quite some time now, back in the days when it was the Colliseum and Fallout before that. As much as I\'d love going to raves with the youngsters, it\'s just not my thing anymore (even though I still do occasionally).
So if you want to categorize us old farts as \"clubbers\", have at it. Enjoy your stereotypes. I\'ve been listening to this music for the past 15 years now, back when it was simply called \"dance music\" instead of house, trance, d&b, or electronica in general. I\'ve also been listening to Dave Aude since his Club Fly days, and have seen him in a number of different venues from KC, Columbia, St. Louis, and Las Vegas. Aude may not be one of the bigger internat\'l DJs, but he\'s always been a crowd favorite everywhere he goes, and continues to keep the place pumpin\' with a great vibe and energy time and again. Of all the DJs I\'ve seen, Aude has been the most consistent when it comes to reading and feeding off the crowd vibe. I\'m sorry you missed the show. I\'m sorry you let the ginos in the crowd get to you and ruin your good time. Shouldn\'t happen that way. If you really do care about the music, the people around you shouldn\'t be such a factor in you having a good time.
Bill Pile continues to bring in some great DJs to our area over the past 7 months or so, and there\'s still a lot of good DJs coming or are in the works. With Christopher Lawrence, Donald Glaude, and Mark Farina over the next couple of months, it should be worth your while to come out to XO and Beaumont and not allow the certain dweebs in the crowd influence you having a good time.
Randy J.

MisterOpus you might not be one of those typical clubbers but 99% of the crowd at places like XO are and I cant surround myself by people like that. It is just not certain \"dweebs\" but almost the entire crowd. To me experiencing the music has a lot to do with the enviroment that it is played in and if the enviroment is not ideal I cant enjoy the music. I am not the only person that feels this way. I know lots and lots of people that will not attend parties at certain places because of the people you call \"ginos\" ruin it. I need a certain vibe to enjoy my music and certain club enviroments just dont do it for me.
I am in no way trying to say that everyone that goes to clubs is like that so dont get me wrong. It has been my experience that almost all the time it happens to be this way. Like Nasty Nate said I cant wait for more party kids to be of age so we can flood those ginos out and make the enviroment more comfortable to a lot of people.
wait... I\'m a party kid... at least I think I used to be... what happened to me!! No I still am!

I understand what you\'re saying Felixx, actually a lot more than you think. You see, my wife feels the same way you do on a lot of these nights. Admittedly, I tend to get bothered by some people at clubs as well. Even though I try my best to black the negativity out, it doesn\'t always work. The vibe of a place is pretty essential, no question. There are times when the Mrs. just can\'t stand it anymore (being grabbed on the dancefloor, bitchy women, slimy guys, etc.), and we\'ll have to leave early. It doesn\'t bother me near as much, because I do a little better job of having tunnel vision.
I just like the great lineup that\'s been coming through town lately. And as you already know, I\'m a big Aude supporter, and I\'ll see him even if he spins in a bathroom somewhere. Hey, the sooner these underage ravers who appreciate the music and bring a good vibe to a place become 21, the better. I\'d be more than happy to see them out at these bars.

And anyone who judges a group as a whole based on the actions of a few is just as guilty as they are. Think about it.

Heh. now thats funny. Cuz its already happened. Most of the clubbers that some of you dont like were going to my events back in the day. Gotta remember, the rave scene is well over 10 years old now. Most of us have grown up and gone into the clubs.
I was only 20 years old when I went to my first party in 94. Now im 29 and am mostly in the clubs. Intresting, hunh?
I have to agree. Won\'t it be nice when all the party kids turn 21 and take over the club scene? I can\'t wait for that day.
Randy J.
05-01-2003, 05:55 PM
But a lot of those people you are refering to are not in the scene at all anymore. No most party kids have not grown up and gone into the club scene. Most party kids are not anything at all because they just disappeared. There are a few around but I wouldnt exactly say they have turned into clubbers because I dont know one party kid that has turned into the kind of clubber I am talking about.
I am not judging those people mearly pointing out how they really are. I tried over and over again to enjoy the club enviroment but it just cant happen.
Cyrus Ramsey
05-01-2003, 08:38 PM
ahh yes but see Felixx, you didnt know who those party kids were back in the mid 90\'s, where as alot of them were my friends and people that went to the events that i threw. I see them all the time now here at XO or at the Empire on weekends. Wearing flashy shirts, settled in their carreers, making good money, and looking like it. They come up and say hi to me all the time. Their are alot of them. I would say 25% of the older crowd in XO on any given Sat night is made up of those former party kids from back in the day. I see them, I talk to them. I know.
Randy J.
05-01-2003, 08:42 PM
Well if they went from party kid to being an asshole clubber than that is sad. I hope that does not have happen to all the people know in the scene and doubt it will. It is funny how money changes people so much. I know people back form middle school and high school that I use to party with that were no where close to clubbers and now they are making money and I see them at clubs and they let money change them for the worst. I hate to see that happen to people but I guess there is nothing you can do about it.

Now thats a bunch of bs felixx. I\'m loseing more respect for you every time you talk about this. So your saying that just because one musle bound rich guy in a flashy shirt was a dick to you then all of them are dicks right? Thats bull $hit. Your judgeing all of them based on the actions of a few and thats just sad. C\'mon man, be a little bit more ralistic. thats like saying that since one black man robbed a liquor store then all balck people are crooks. Get real.

05-02-2003, 06:06 PM
What?!?!?!? Did I ever say it was just one person! No I never did so dont be jumping to conclusions. The only reason you are standing up for clubbers anyway is because you work at one! If it wasnt for that I am sure you would agree because I dont know many party kids that dont.
Here is my reason for disliking the clubbers I describe. A couple of years back I started to hang out with some guys that hung out at XO, the Hurricane, and some other bars and clubs around KC. They also attended XO after parties every sat and fri night. I starting going to the clubs with them because they could get me in even though I was under age. After about 3 months of going to clubs every friday and saturday night and meeting tons of people in the club scene I came to the conclusion that 95% of the people in the club scene are like that. It isnt that I was treated poorly but that I saw how some people were treated and saw that most of these people are all about money and material things and judge people based on how they dressed and what they drove and I cant stand people like that. No one is better than anyone else for any reason and if you think you are better than someone because of money then I dont want to be around you.
So it was not because of one person or any particular person but what I saw from many nights and many people. So if you want to lose all respect for me because I dont like people like that then go ahead.
Cyrus Ramsey
05-02-2003, 07:02 PM
Ok, i hear what your saying, but still i don\'t think that you can judge an entire group because your choice of people that you hung out with was poor. I know alot of nice clubbers that don\'t judge people based on what they wear or how much money they make. I know alot of cluubers that are good nice people.
So again, lets say that you drive into the wrong neiborhood and are jumped by 10 black guys. After they are done jumping you and beating your ass, as you stumble down the road and try to make your way home, other black people are making fun of your stupid white ass cuz you got jumped. Does that make all black people bad?
Yes their are alot of clubbers that treat people like shit, but their are also alot of stuck up snobby ravers as well. Look KC\'s main record store. I don\'t judege ravers because i meet a group who are all stuck up and snobby, and i don\'t think every raver is an e-tard despite all the roll piles everywhere at raves. That would be wrong to do so.
Go ahead and keep bashing clubbers, your acting like you have met every single clubber in KC and that ALL OF THEM are bad people. I know that isnt true, cuz look at yourself. You may not call yourself a clubber, but you are. The only times I have ever seen you are in clubs or bars, I have never met you at a rave (this is mostly because i don\'t go to alot of raves anymore), but if I were to just meet you in the bars and clubs, without knowing who you were or knowing of you here on Syde-Sho, I would look at you as a clubbber. And your not a bad guy, are you?
Randy J.
05-02-2003, 07:25 PM
No I am not. But I dont call myself a clubber and I never will. Like I said before not everyone who attends clubs is a clubber. I consider clubbers to be the people that I described. I go to clubs like I did Kabals last Friday and still most of the people there are just like I described.
There is not a doubt in my mind that there are good people in the club scene but it has been my experience that almost all clubbers are like that.
I hope one day that my opinion can change and that I will he more comfortable in XO type settings but until then this is my opinion.
Rolliepollie
05-02-2003, 07:44 PM
well, as far as clubbers and ravers...
they are the same for the most part, just in it for different reasons...
Clubbers are trying to wind down from their grown up lives... they all have jobs, right?
They just don\'t love the music on the same level as we do, I think.
It\'s not like there is a difference in any way, just the atmosphere... and the crowd.
I don\'t care of I\'m in a fucking Gay bar... does the DJ kick ass?
I had to go see Paul Van Dyk in an ALL gay setting... that was... Unique. Fact remains, it was one of the best sets I\'ve ever seen. Saw Carl Cox play an all gay club too... the crowd does NOT affect my good time... they just tend to make me listen more to the music and talk less with the people that are there.
Yea, I\'d be pretty pissed if someone called me a \"clubber\"
Randy J.
05-02-2003, 07:59 PM
See saying that ravers and party kids are the same as ravers really bothers me. That is like a slap in the face.
To me the vibe of the crowd is part of the music. Yeah, I can stand there and listen in a enviroment I dont like but it would be so much better if it was somewhere that I wanted to be. Sometimes like last Friday it gets to be too much and I have to leave before I want to.
