hahaha.. Richie posted a little rant on m-nus.com that landed him #12 and Magda #100. He said that these lists were overun by trance djs(true) and that the minimal/techno scene needed to represent. I cant believe Magda even got on that list, bullshit. ONly one of my djs made it on..:(

no dnb on that list at all. well except for Andy C and might I add whoopie fucking doo.

fuck tiesto!

good to see Hernan Catteneo @ #7 tho

Ricardo Villalobos @ 47 ?????

The fact that Lisa Lashes is actually on that list ?????

Who the hell is DJ Luna???

Why isn't Ed Rush, Optical, Technical Itch, Stakka, Skynet, or Trace on there.

Also where the hell is Chris Liberator? I don't think I saw him on there either.

its like if both of them met head on. Imagine rotterdam percussion with more techno/trance elements.

wow us breaks lovers have about as much on the list as you techno kids. only Ricky Stone (who will be on Frosted Breaks in a couple weeks) and The Plump Dj's made the list.

The problem is that Breaks parties don't have 40-50-60-100,000 people at them in Europe like Techno does... and to be honest, niether does trance--so WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON?

The fact that Richie Hawtin isn't number 1 just goes to show how flawed this system really is.

and to be honest, niether does trance
umm... trance energy? sensation white? leave it to ralf to make the idiotic comments...

Really? i was surprised he ranked as high as he did. I commented earlier about how he was asking for votes on his web site under the guise that it was for techno. It did well for him and it even got Magda on the top 100 list. Really, does she deserve that honor?

Spell my fucking name correctly Jennifer, or don't let it cross your lips.

It seriously makes you look like a fucking ignorant douchebag when you cannot grasp the PHonetic qualities of the English Launguage.

But ok, lets get on Trance parties that yield those numbers... oh wait, you've already named them all... so what, like 3? Last I checked, there aren't usually ONLY Trance headliners at those events either... *gasp* some of them play techno, too. Happens weekly for Techno, in most places other than here...

Stephen, I don't even know who the fuck Magda is--but Richie Hawtin should be #1 on every list.

vagueness... the hallmark of one who chronically talks out of their ass. name a few techno-specific events other than 'i love techno' which draw 30,000+ people around the world each year. i won't help you out this time. and no, there is no techno at trance energy or sensation white.

it will just never cease to amuse me how once ralf is tipped off to something new that he hasn't heard about, all of the sudden he's some kind of expert and acts like he's known about it all along. never gives specifics in any of his arguements. the computer arguement is another example. someone says they bought a computer for $575 and he is all "oh you can build on for cheaper than that blah blah blah blah", never giving specifics. seems like a lot of people are like that. always talking shit they can't back up with real knowledge.

Fuse-In(in our own nation) 41,220 paying fans in attendance
Sonar (Spain)
Awakenings (Netherlands)
DEMF (also in Detroit, 600k ppl)
I Love TECHNO (to not name it would be stupid)

among others... these are just the festivals, regular club nights overseas have 10k ppl in them so the point isn't really all that arguable. And Jenz, shut your fucking dicksucker, buddy.

it should be noted that I barely BUY techno and can name such events off the top of my head, but ya know.. whatever.

The poll is probably dominated by people who haven't really been exposed to that many djs, so they vote for a name they know. I never would have voted if it wasn't for Richie's campaign on his website. Maybe I'm wrong. Who else voted?

these list are about as unaccurate as it gets. All politics.

r0t8
10-31-2005, 11:42 PM
well, all of these djs are the ones who consistently play the big parties and are probably the most in demand worldwide. sure, most of the people who voted probably aren't experts who know of every artist under the sun, but that's how most party people are... so it's fairly accurate in that context, imo.
