October 9, 2006 - The New York Post reports Jimmy Buffett left a few things in the south of France last week, thanks to French authorities.
The paper reports customs officials say they found more than 100 tablets of the drug ecstacy in his luggage, after his rented private jet landed. The paper says Buffett was detained but not arrested, and allowed to go after paying a fine of about 380 dollars. Buffett's spokeswoman denies he had ecstasy in the luggage, but says "it was medicine prescribed by his doctor."
