China claimed yesterday to have caused a snowfall for the first time as part of its increasingly ambitious attempts to control the weather.

Officials in the meteorological bureau in Tibet said they had used "rain-seeding" techniques to trigger a snowfall over the city of Nagqu last week.

"This proves it's possible for humans to change the weather on the world's highest plateau," said Yu Zhongshui. The bureau said it had produced just under half an inch of snow at a height of 15,000ft.

According to MSNBC and BBC it was "rain" not "snow"

Both show how China's technology for wheather yet both have stories of creating rain not snow. Funny.

look at the date of the second article: 2004. the first article is clearly talking about rain and the olympics. the article i posted is clearly talking about snow on a mountain. what's really funny is your inability to see the differences in the articles. =)

seriously... how can you POSSIBLY think they are talking about creating RAIN and not snow when the article has specific quotes such as, "Officials in the meteorological bureau in Tibet said they had used "rain-seeding" techniques to trigger a snowfall over the city of Nagqu last week."

learn to read.
