Ford's Fiesta ECOnetic gets an astonishing 65 mpg, but the carmaker can't afford to sell it in the U.S.

Taxes aimed at commercial trucks mean diesel costs anywhere from 40 cents to $1 more per gallon than gasoline.
Heat the cry in the wilderness: Deregulate America!
Wake up to the fact that the government isn't your savior, but the cause of your problems. Taxes on fuel make more money per gallon for the government than petrol manufacturers. The folly of the Bush war and expansion of government is the perfect cover for some of the most sinister taxation this nation has ever seen by the most corrupt government in two generations. Think for yourself and judge every vote you cast in the next 5 years based on if it's for or against deregualtion of industry.

Wow, i'm amazed. Four years ago I remember having a debate with you in my basement during a Frosted Breaks show where I really tried to explain to you how corrupt Bush was and you just wouldn't believe it. I pleaded with you to vote for the other guy and you said "hell no".
My how tables have turned.

s-rock and i were at the mechanic the other month and he was talking about the computers in cars and how rediculous it is that these car manufacturer's will sell the same car in europe but the gas mileage is exponentially better.....the same car, the exact same car.....a couple modifications here and there and a much more efficient car

yah... and for $300-400 you too can buy the handheld to plug in and make the change yourself...
... BUT why should we have to spend extra to do it?
the car makers get away with the exact same lock-in crap that Microsoft is on the international chopping block for. why should they? oil & legislation is the only thing i can come up with.

Odds are if you're fucking with your ECU you're going to fail your inspection and if your state has a smog check you will fail it miserably.
While you may be running your car "leaner" it's not exactly the most enviromentally friendly at idle and runs quite a few risks on anything that has a turbo.

^^^^ i don't think missouri has smog inspections as of yet, but maybe. i sure as hell hope not, i haven't had a cat on my eclipse in like 5 years. but i can imagine somebody walking into a ford dealership saying, yeah i tried to trick out my cars ecu and it runs like shit now, and ford thinking, i'm making mad bank of this tard.
