Can't believe this happened last week, check it out:
At Jilly's last Thursday, 2 records after I started playing after Rob, a lady came up to me and asked
"when is there a break?"
I responded with "You mean when I am done, or when is there a break in the music?"
She said "A break in the music..."
I explained "Well, probably never! It's like one real long song..."
Her next request "I'll give you five bucks to stop playing for 15 minutes.."
I kindlly point her over to the bar with my middle finger..
Shortly thereafter the (weak) bartender had me stop the music for a litle bit. We laughed, made fun, and bitched about this group for a little while outside, and decided to just break down for the night. We went back up to the stage, started breaking down. The people thought we were getting ready to play again, so Xan and I saw our chance. They said "just keep it down"
We replied "Sorry, gotta be loud for us to play."
"But we will stop playing for the rest of the night for $20"
2 minutes and change later, everyone got paid to do nothing. Little did they know we were done anyways. @ssholes.
Not often you get paid NOT to play.
