Guest LISTS ARE GAY....hahahaha...interesting choice of words. I wouldn\'t use them for a small event...what sense would that make? Unless attendance is so low that it would be unfair to make dancers pay for a slow event. Guest list are used all the time at large events tho and if the promoter is the person actually making the list...why not? U-move actually post here and offers a guest list to U-move events... so I\'m sure that good business practices are the goal, right?
Why do you think they are \"gay\"?

OMG shut up all ready :casstet: . The point your trying to make is stupid. Everyone has a guest list. If a preformer is going to preform for an event no matter what kind of event, that person is then entittled to have guest get in for free. Its part of the due. Considering they seem to be the cause of a lot of promoter\'s budget overruns, is in fault of the promoter. They should then limit the number of people on the guest list and inform the entertainers (thats right bitches \'cause that what they are), the workers and everyone else involved that night that they have a set limit of guest that can get in under their name. Here I\'ll give an example.
Hey dude you can have one person on the guest list at the \"_____ party\". Its fine if there is a set number of guest that would be allowed in. Its fair to everyone then. If a situation arises then it sould be setted strickly between the promoter and the preformer, worker or who ever. Ding end of discussion its then settled. I would think that would be common since but some times you people prove me wrong.

if i were throwing a party i would allow only the DJs and sound/light equipment crew in for free. maybe some people who passed out extraordinary amounts of flyers. otherwise they can pay. politics can eat a dick.

I have no problem with guest listing the people that have a hand in the party, and plus one for performers. I would not guest list anyone who flyered (or, I love this one, who wants to come in and flyer at my party), or anyone who is \"special\" unless they had some sort of positive impact on the party... and we\'re talking impact the size of the meteor that killed the dinosaurs.
I don\'t think that I should get in for free b/c I\'ve been around for five years and I\'m the moderator of Syde-sho, and *snotty voice*, \"god, everyone knows who I am, don\'t YOU know who I am? You\'re committing promoter suicide if you don\'t let me in for free!\" Hell... I\'m married to a performer, and I don\'t even expect to get in for free everytime Tj plays. I could care less. It\'s a nice perk, but I won\'t ask for it (unless we\'re playing waaaay out of town, it\'s a nice little safeguard there).
definitely... guest lists need to be trimmed down. if you don\'t have a purpose, under most circumstances, you should not be on the guest list. (the only exception i can think of is the one i mentioned above... if you\'re \"with the dj\" and an agreement has been made to cover your entry if you are traveling from far away)

Shame on you.. If it werent for the guestlist i would not go to most events. Besides, guestlist leaves more money for drinks!!

Is there anyone else out there that feels like, if they are guestlisted for no \"good\" reason other than their name, they should do something to help out at the show?
i always find myself working the door or parking at the last minute, or picking up trash... i give myself a guilt complex over it... is this normal?

Lets be honest, MOST people who hate guest list dont get guest list..
I think guest list is the shit..infact, i like walking to the door not on guestlist and being waved thru. Then i like walking up to the line lady and peeing all over her. .:)
My GFs work does events at the club who hosts Spundae, so we have pulled tons of guestlists out of our ass. Its fucking great.. If i even \"somewhat\" know a dj on the lineup..you guessed it.. GUEST LIST!
yo mang, you got dat guest list yo..,
