Ok, I'm trying to record a mix, and i have no computer in my room. It's outside my room. Well, there's a stereo in my room which i use for my mixing, but none out by the computer. However, there's a TV with those 3 little red, white, and yellow connectors, so I hooked up my RCA cables through the red and white connecters, and put it on video, but i'm still not getting any sound! When I turn it onto vid. 3, you hear a small crack like there should be sound coming out... but still nothing.

Anyone know what to do?!?! this is driving me NUTS!

it's hooked up to my TV for sound since i don't have a stereo near my computer. Everything is still in the computer ;)

i would invest in an extra long RCA to headphone jack.

RCA end goes to the (rec out) port on the mixer.

headphone end goes to audio input on the computer.

you dont want to plug the mixer into the tv.

audio and video have to remain seperate.

i know... trust me though, i definately got it to work. I didn't touch the audio. To simplify this, I was using the TV souly as a stereo so I could hear the output.

Be careful as TVs have different impedances and lower handling of sound than stereos and pro-audio equipment does.

also most tv's dont have very good speakers at all, not even plasmas that go for over $5000. You could blow the speakers on the tv very easily.

That is the single stupidest idea I have heard this week.

WTF are you thinking?

hey you know what... it works. I need to hear the output and that's the only way I could hear it while recording, so blah!
